This was the most difficult song to musically craft on the entire album. Internecion went through multiple variations before we settled on an opening structure and sequence.
A funny story about this song is we literally changed the name the night before our final practice session before heading into the studio. We were working and crafting this song for a year, sweating over every detail, and that little name tweak at the end threw us through a massive loop in the studio.
Internecion Lyrics
They keep me down
All through the week
They worked me hard
Till my fingers bleed
With my options low
I raised my phone
I paid the toll
For my blood to sell
As the coins tumble
And my problems soared
For all the trouble
Then the rains would pour
